Founder — Sarah Elena
Sarah Elena has lived in Costa Rica since 2015 and has helped hundreds of families make their move abroad through her relocation agency, RelocateNow Costa Rica.
She appears on HGTV’s World’s Bargain Dream Homes (Season 1, 2026) in the Limón and Puntarenas episodes, and is a contributor to International Living.
She hosts Pura Vida Perspectives, winner of the English category at the 2025 Latin Podcast Awards (produced with La Resortera audio & podcast) — available on Spotify and YouTube.
She runs one Facebook community of 57,000+ members and co-hosts another of 54,000+ — more than 110,000 members combined — and reaches an 18,000-subscriber email list.
She has hosted 13+ in-person events across Costa Rica — week-long Expat Retreats in Esterillos and La Fortuna, and 3-day Roadmap to Costa Rica conferences in San José — each with 40–50 attendees. Beyond her own events, Sarah is a public figure and speaker who has presented at other conferences across the move-abroad community.
Costa Rica is her primary focus, and she also runs relocation programs in Panama (relocatenowpanama.com).
Her story
Sarah moved to Costa Rica at 23, leaving a career as a social worker in the United States for a country where she barely knew anyone. A year after arriving she became pregnant — and soon found herself raising her daughter alone, learning a new language and culture while building a life far from home as a single parent.
The early years were hard. But she kept going — figuring out the systems one form, one move, and one small win at a time, and turning that hard-won knowledge into a living. She built RelocateNow into a full relocation agency — one of several ventures she founded along the way.
Today her daughter is nine, their life in Costa Rica is simply home, and the path that once felt impossible is the one Sarah helps other people walk every day.
From RelocateNow to ReloHQ
RelocateNow is Sarah’s relocation agency — a working team that walks clients through every step of a move to Costa Rica, A to Z, with hands-on, one-on-one support.
After guiding hundreds of people through the same journey, Sarah kept seeing the same questions, forms, and milestones come up again and again. ReloHQ is what she built to put that guidance in everyone’s hands — years of real moves turned into a roadmap, checklists, and tools anyone planning a move abroad can use.
RelocateNow still does the high-touch, done-with-you work; ReloHQ makes the same roadmap self-serve. It’s the tool Sarah wishes she’d had at 23.
